How ‘Going Global’ Can Change Your Life

Save

Studying or completing a placement abroad can be enriching and life changing. You gain new insights from exposure to new ideas, values, cultures, languages, foods and unexpected experiences, which can give you a competitive advantage when entering a growing global economy and labour market upon graduation. Whether you choose to go abroad for one term or for a longer duration, studying or working abroad offers many benefits including an extraordinary educational experience, experiential learning in cross-cultural communications, the chance to create future international career opportunities and the opportunity to build a global network.

If you are interested in studying abroad, UOIT offers a variety of international exchange and short-term study/work abroad opportunities for students who are currently attending the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) and have completed at least one year of study. The duration varies from eight weeks (summer institutes only) to four months or eight months, depending on the option you choose and the faculty you are enrolled in.

UOIT students have studied and worked abroad in many countries such as Japan, Turkey, Sweden, China, Germany, Barbados, France, Brazil and many more.

The opportunities don’t end there either. Other opportunities for international experiences include field schools within the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, independent study abroad and international internships.
